Dutch and European patent attorney
Henk joined NLO in 1995. From 1988 to 1995, he was a Research Scientist at Shell Research – Amsterdam (NL) and Sittingbourne (UK) – where he was engaged in several research projects related to lubricating oil and fuel additives, polymers, catalysis and oil conversion processes.
Henk specialises particularly in organic chemistry, polymer chemistry, medicinal chemistry, catalysis and chemical technology. His expertise is regularly engaged by foreign chemical and pharmaceutical enterprises as well as oil companies. Henk is an IP consultant for national chemical and pharmaceutical companies, universities and startups. Furthermore, he has extensive experience within drafting and prosecuting complex patent applications. He is also frequently engaged in patent litigation, particularly with regard to pharmaceutical patents.
Henk has an MSc in Organic Chemistry and Medicinal Chemistry (1984) and a PhD in Organometallic Chemistry, VU University Amsterdam (1988).
